Describes arriving at a trekking expedition base camp in Goa. After arriving at Madgaon railway station at 6 AM, taking three buses to reach the YHAI base camp. Camp leader Mithun Das informed us the base camp had relocated 80 kilometers away and suggested riding with a vegetable truck arriving that afternoon. Fellow trekker Vinod jokingly suggested we could ask the driver for vegetables.
The staff lady burst into laughter, revealing it was an elaborate prank: "There's no vegetable truck. Those guys have been playing with you all along."
It was January 1, 2014.
